An Exceptional Place to Learn!

Thomsen 5

My name is John Thomsen and it is a pleasure to serve as the District Administrator for the School District of Whitefish Bay.

In this Newsletter we will be updating you on our work around the Thriving Disposition of Critical Thinking and Problem Solving.  We will also be shaing a new communication tool "ClearGov" and invite you to complete a survey designed to gain insight on school community member communication preferences.  Finally, we will be highlighting several "high traction" Facebook postings from this past month.

On behalf of our students and team members thank you for your ongoing support.

District Administrator
Thriving Disposition Critical Thinking & Problem Solving
Work is no longer defined by a specialty; it is defined more by tasks or problems. Solutions are not prescribed.  The biggest challenge is to possess the Critical Thinking and Problem Solving skills to be effective in teams, since nobody is telling our students exactly what to do!

See how we are nurturing these thriving dispostions in our students.

District Data - ClearGov
New Transparency Platform Communicates Finances, Test Scores and More.  The School District and the Communications Advisory Committee are excited to share this tool for the purpose of enhancing communication and sharing key District data.

Community members can now access breakdowns of the District’s finances, as well as insights into the student demographics, staffing, test performance, state aid and much more in an easy-to-understand platform.  They can also compare data to relevant peer districts to lend context to the numbers.
