First Meets of the Season
Congratulations to the organizers, coaches, officials, volunteers and participants of our first 2 events of the season. The Eastern Regional #1 in Ottawa and the Western Regional #1 in Kitchener-Waterloo saw approximately 105 and 176 skaters respectfully attend.

    Feel Like Giving Back?
    Like most sports in Canada, speed skating relies on government funding as well as donations from good willed individuals for support.  To make a donation to a local club or OSSA, please complete the Charitable Receipt Request Form.


    Be A Part of the Ontario Winter Games!

    Be among Ontario’s finest skaters at the 2014 Ontario Winter Games in Muskoka February 27 – March 1, 2014. 

    OSSA requires 8 coaches and 4 managers to participate in the Ontario Winter Games. The competition brings together the top-ranked 32 male and 32 female short track skaters (aged 13-18 years) from across the province. This competition is part of the development pathway leading towards the 2015 Canada Winter Games in Prince George, BC. Lead coaches must be at least Introduction to Competition certified and Assistant coaches must be Fundamentals Trained or higher. Coaches and Managers will have their accommodations provided in Huntsville, most meals provided, and may be eligible for transportation subsidies.     Canada Winter Games Development Camp Coaching Opportunities

    Due to the generous support from the Ontario Ministry of Tourism, Culture, and Sport and the Sport Alliance of Ontario, OSSA will be hosting Team Ontario Development Camps in preparation for the 2015 Canada Winter Games in Prince George, BC. 

    A short track development camp will be hosted in Toronto on December 20-22, 2013. A long track development camp will be hosted in Lake Placid on December 20-22, 2013. Camp details will be released in the next 2 weeks and selection criteria will apply. 

    Three (3) coaches are required for each camp. Coaches who hope to attend the 2015 CWG are strongly encouraged to apply as are coaches interested in apprenticeship opportunities. Lead coaches must be at least Level 2 certified or Introduction to Competition Trained and Assistant coaches must be Introduction to Competition In Training or higher. Accommodations and an honorarium will be provided for each coach.
