Dream Team Make it Happen

Dream Team

Following the Jan 12 and 13, 2014 thaw in the Ottawa area, the Volunteer Ice Crew got back to work once again to prepare ice for the Ontario Speed Skating Association Provincial Long Track Championships Jan 18 &19, 2014. The track is a 400m oval, a dream job for so many Canadian back yard rink builders. This proud winter-loving Great Canadian Crew set up to repair what they had built all season. With large streams of water leaving the track, pockets and low spots appearing, their will along with strong support from Mother Nature assisted this crew in salvaging the track and making a great flat, safe and fast surface for the 117 skaters that attended the weekend. Their combined experience with late nights and really early mornings from Monday thru to Sunday, this crew did a phenomenal job. If SSC has a comparable Order of Canada, this crew should be nominated. Congratulations to Sue and her crew.
