Coach Resources

There are resources available on the OSSA website on the Coaching  Page. Please be sure to scroll through to the bottom of the page to see everything that we have available for you!

Coaching Resumes Wanted!
Interested in coaching Ontario athletes at National level meets? The Coaching Development Committee is now accepting coach resumes for the upcoming season.
RList
Resumes will be collected and stored in confidence by OSSA Sport Manager, Sarah Leslie, on behalf of the CDC.
Be sure to list your skating history, coaching experience, certifications, philosophy and any other relevant information - but keep it to three pages or less. Don't forget to include contact information.

More Coaching Courses!

There are two more coaching courses being offered this fall! 
Coach
Interested members can attend a FUNdamentals Leader course in Toronto on September 22nd and Introduction to Competition - Part A is being offered in Hamilton on September 29-30th.
Participating members may be eligible for funding bursaries through Quest for Gold to assist for fees and travel.


Safety First

A safety task group has been established to raise awareness about safety issues and assist clubs with implementing their own safety 
Alert!
measures. The STG members can answer questions on a variety of topics including racing equipment requirements, new crash mat guidelines, and concussion testing. Check out the webpage we created just for this committee to learn more!.

STG members want you to know about two important items!
  1. There will be SCAT2 testing demonstrations at Provincial Series meet #1 in Cambridge Nov 3-4 and Provincial Series meet #2 in Gloucester Nov 24-25. Watch the site for details.
  2. The STG would like to have one liaison to be the safety contact person from each club.  Please let us know if you are interested in representing your club!

Injury Tracking - Your Help Needed!

Clubs are asked to submit a form for any injury that occurs during practice or competition (skater, coach or other). Identifying trends will lead to improved safety measures for all. The purpose of the Injury Tracking Form is to provide the Safety Task Group and Speed 
Injury
Skating Canada with an overview of the rate and nature of injuries occurring across the province.
