Congratulations to Lauren McGuire (Ottawa Pacers) who is training in Calgary and a member of the National Development Team. Lauren has been named as a recipient of the Peter Williamson Memorial Trust Fund Bursary which is presented annually by SSC to outstanding athletes. Well done!

Learn the FUNdamentals Before All Else


Register now for the upcoming FUNdamentals Leader course, being offered Sunday, October 20th in Milton. Registration information can be found here.

The FUNdamentals Leader workshop  introduces participants to the sport of speed skating. After completing FUNdamentals Leader course, the coach will be trained to assist in practices and provide skaters with a safe training session.  

Milton Club seeks volunteer Head Coach

The Milton Speed Skating club is looking for someone to lead their athletes and volunteer coaches as Head Coach.

The Milton Speed Skating club is a growing, volunteer-run, not-for-profit club and features programs for new and experienced skaters.

This volunteer Head Coach position would be responsible for the overall direction of the other volunteer coaches (currently 7) for our 65 skaters including on-ice and dry land programs as well as competition coaching. More...

2013-2014 Technical Bulletin

The 2013-2014 Technical Bulletin can be viewed in the Technical Bulletin page of the website. Also posted is the Racing Series Assignment list and an FAQ document developed from feedback comments and questions from the clubs. Members are encouraged to review all documents prior to the start of the racing season.


Clubs will be contacted by the OSSA Sport Manager regarding skater confirmation in the Provincial Racing Series. Skaters will be required to confirm their intent to race in the Provincial Series via their clubs by the September 15th deadline. Any vacancies will be filled after September 16th.
