In this month’s RHIO Report
Get DIRECTED! Did you know that RHIO’s DIRECT messaging service supports transitions of care, patient referrals and peer-to-peer data exchange? DIRECT is 100% HIPAA-compliant, and is just as easy to use as email. It is a proven tool to improve communications among healthcare providers working in a variety of settings. It is a simple, secure tool for clinical communications. So, what are the advantages? First, it has the same ability as email to attach multiple files (documents, images, spreadsheets, or even C-CDAs). A recipient can then file any of those attached documents from the DIRECT message directly into a patient’s electronic record, which supports Meaningful Use requirements. DIRECT allows one care provider to send very specific information to another care provider. DIRECT can be integrated with your EHR, or our participants can use RHIO’s DIRECT web-portal for securely exchanging messages. That’s because RHIO is an accredited HISP (Health Information Service Provider), and is one of many certified HISPs. RHIO staff can confirm if a vendor participates as a DIRECT certified HISP. The bottom line? HISPs enable cross-community access and reduce communication barriers across care settings. Let’s get DIRECTED! Contact your RHIO Deployment Coordinator, or call -877-865-7446, and speak with someone today about using DIRECT messaging to improve interoperability and patient care transitions. At the Rochester RHIO, we are wrapping up the transition to electronic applications. The latest forms to go electronic are the MyResults Delivered applications. The online application allows RHIO Administrators to authorize user access for MyResults Delivered including IERD (Image Enabled Results Delivery) and Filters via our secure Provider Portal. After logging in, RHIO Admins can click “Applications” in the upper left hand corner of the page. Complete the application for a user within your organization and click “Submit.” This creates a reference number and case where our team will begin processing the application and issue services. These electronic applications willl soon replace mailed, emailed, or faxed paper enrollment applications. For questions, contact our Customer Support Center at dep.support@grrhio.org or 1-877-865-7446 (RHIO).
