Rochester RHIO: Implementing smarter, faster EMPI technology solution
In February, Rochester RHIO took a leap forward with the implementation of a smarter, faster Enterprise Master Patient Index (EMPI) solution using NextGate’s MatchMetrix® technology. So, what does this mean for you? It means that our community master patient index is at the foundation of reliable source of health information exchange services. In addition, this change minimizes medical errors, reduces billing issues, improves interactions with patients and enhances information sharing among participants. 1

In the News: Rochester RHIO an example of “the right technology infrastructure”
In an article on Population Health, Health IT Outcomes magazine interviewed Martha Thorne, Allscripts Senior Vice President and General Manager, Population Health. Thorne mentioned the Rochester RHIO as an example of an organization with “the right technology infrastructure.” RHIO provided critical IT infrastructure support to drive a state-funded population health program called the Community Diabetes Collaborative. As a result of this technology effort, more diabetic patients gained control of their disease.
The Community Diabetes Collaborative program demonstrates how RHIO technology can support data analytics initiatives. Since this program was completed, the Rochester RHIO has adopted a new technology infrastructure, which allows the RHIO to provide even more technology services to the community.
