Earth Day, Sunday, April 22
Join The Nature Conservancy for Picnic for the Planet, a celebration of the  planet on which we live,
the food it provides and the people with which we share it. Register for Picnic for the Planet
The Nature Conservancy's Picnic for the Planet will be a fun, old-fashioned picnic full
of opportunities to celebrate Earth Day with food and time in the great
outdoors. Picnickers of all ages will enjoy nature-themed activities
 including: • Music • Lawn games, including potato sack races with prizes! • Guided wildflower and birding hikes • Scavenger hunts • Live animal show • Children’s crafts • And of course, food!
- When: Earth Day, April 22, 2012, noon to 3pm
- Where: Fort Harrison State Park, Cherry Tree Shelter, 5753 N. Glenn Rd., Indianapolis, IN

Everyone can participate! Picnic for the Planet is open to all. There
is no cost for admission, and guests are welcome to BYOP (picnic) or
purchase a locally-sourced boxed lunch from Chef JJ's Big Green Bistro.
- Why: It’s fun,
healthy, and good for the planet to eat smart, eat locally, and eat
sustainably. In addition, doing so supports Indiana farmers and
communities.
- Cost: It's free! But in order to receive your free pass into Fort Harrison State Park, you will need to register. It takes just a minute.
The Nature Conservancy's Picnic for the Planet
celebration in Indiana is hosted by Generation Conservation (Gen C), a volunteer
group of Conservancy supporters in their 20s, 30s, and 40s who want to
do their part in conserving Indiana’s land, water, and wildlife for
future generations. The Nature Conservancy is a leading conservation
organization working around the world to protect ecologically important
lands and waters for nature and people. The Conservancy and its more
than 1 million members have protected nearly 120 million acres
