Bolívar Hall

London

'Leo Brouwer is one of the greats'. Le Droit

Two giants of the classical guitar world set the world to rights in a public interview at London's favourite classical guitar venue, the Bolívar Hall, as John Williams chats to his longstanding friend and collaborator, Leo Brouwer, on life, music and guitars. Leo Brouwer is one of contemporary music’s living legends. Acclaimed in his youth as one of the all-time great performers of the classical guitar, the Cuban composer is a Honorary Member of UNESCO and is recognised worldwide as the guitar’s most outstanding living composer for the instrument, and as a pioneer in the fusion of musical styles and genres. John Williams is considered by many to be quite simply the best classical guitarist in the world performing today. Please note that this event does not feature any live performances. Talk chaired by Stephen Goss. Advance booking highly recommended!

Pioneering Classical Music Venue Closes its Doors

The Forge

By HELEN GLAISHER-HERNANDEZ

The 31st March 2017 was a dark day indeed for London's classical music scene, as The Forge Venue, located in Delancey Street just off Camden High Street in NW1, closed its doors for the very last time. After eight years in operation, the Forge held its final-ever event on Friday, featuring the salsa band Conjunto Sabroso as part of its popular 'Cuban Jam' series... READ MORE
