The Spanish violin-guitar Roncesvalles Duo (Elena and Francisco Javier Jáuregui) are joined by award-winning Icelandic mezzo-soprano Gúdrun Ólafsdóttir to launch their new CD Secretos quiero descubrir. From the heritage of the Sephardic communities, passed down from generation to generation since medieval times, to songs by Lorca and the folk Basque tradition, to the UK premiere of new Spanish music, this colourful evening will draw you into the depths of the Spanish soul.

Join us after the concert for a complimentary wine reception.

Spanish tenor and mezzo-soprano duo, Jorge de León & Belén Elvira, present a programme of Spanish-language songs, zarzuelas and opera arias in a Rosenblatt Recital at Wigmore Hall. De León is one of Spain’s leading tenors, singing regularly at Madrid’s Teatro Real and La Scala in Italy, whilst Elvira is fast making a name for herself on the Spanish opera circuit.

Lontano: Fifth London Festival of American Music

Lontano’s Biennial Festival explores and celebrates the work of major American composers and reflects the diversity of style that is so characteristic of contemporary American music. The festival is curated by Lontano’s Music Director Odaline de la Martínez, one of Britain’s most dynamic and gifted musicians and the first woman to conduct a complete BBC Prom at the Royal Festival Hall. The Festival includes several works with Latin connections: the UK premiere of a semi-staged performance of 'The Crossing', Part II of de la Martinez’s Afro-Cuban Slavery Opera Trilogy, as well as works by Gottschalk and Puerto Rican composer, Armando Bayolo. Featured before each evening performance will be Meet the Composer / Meet the Artist — a chance for audiences to learn more about the pieces and hear what the composers and performers have to say.

Feast your ears and imaginations with this original presentation of the music of legendary Spanish composers Granados, de Falla et al. Sparkling, vibrant and witty, this show is endorsed by the legendary Teresa Berganza, written by scriptwriter Nicola Harrison, and presented by acclaimed ensemble Casa Margarita.
