From Mrs. Rauch

What a zchus to have the privilege to start off another new school year. Working in the building during the summer, preparing for school, is a strange experience. Though we know the goal, the emptiness, the void is ever present. Our girls bring the meaning, the essence, into the beautiful building. Our G.O. has chosen the school theme for the year to be “Riding the High Road”, working on one’s middos and inter-personal relationships. They will focus on many of the middos that are so necessary to succeed,
such as simcha, refraining from kinaah (jealousy), vatranus (giving in) and many more.

As we are concluding the month of Elul and heading into the Yomim Noraim, we hope to hear more words of inspiration in regard to our aspirations of riding the high road as it relates to us and to the Melech Malchai Hamelachim, Hakadosh Boruch Hu. It is during this time of year that we take the additional time to focus on self-improvement, as well as our relationship with the Ribono shel Olam. During these days of taking on kabbalos for the year, perhaps we can accept upon ourselves to concentrate on at least one midda within our own beings, behaving and appearing as the am segula that we are, as we strengthen and reinforce our relationship with The King. With our renewed drive, may we be zoche to bring more kavod, kedusha and nachas to the Ribono shel Olam and may He grant us only happy and fulfilling days till the Melech ha’moshiach comes.... And beyond!

Kesiva V’Chasima Tova  - Mrs. Rauch

Welcome Back to School from Ms. Gehring!

Welcome back to all of our returning students and parents, and a special welcome to our new students and families!  As we move forth in the new school year, here are three things for both students and parents to consider for a successful academic year:

Create realistic expectations:  Recognize that each class will provide exciting learning opportunities but may also be tedious and demand a lot of work at other times.

Recognize that strong effort is important:  Each student should be expected to work hard and achieve at the optimum level consistent with her talents.

Seek opportunities for development in all areas:  Along with learning academic subjects, students are also developing key skills in communication, problem solving, self-control and interpersonal relations.  Emotional resiliency to deal with failure, persistence when confronted with tough situations and a positive outlook are important lifelong learning skills.

We look forward to a great school year and appreciate all that our families do to contribute to the success of our students!

Special Note to Parents of Grade 9 Students

It is very important that all grade 9 students are in attendance Monday-Wednesday, October 20-22, in order to participate in state standardized assessments.

Please avoid scheduling any appointments for students on these three afternoons.  Due to the short window for this testing after the students return from break, make-up testing opportunities will be very limited.
