EPIC
BURGER APPOINTS SCOTT NORRICK AS CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER
Chicago’s
“More Mindful” burger chain signs Potbelly executive to fuel growth
CHICAGO
(November 7, 2012)—Epic
Burger Founder David Friedman announced today the
appointment of Scott Norrick to the role of Chief Executive Officer for the
rapidly-growing Chicago chain. Friedman established the company and opened its
first location at 517 South State Street in 2008. In the past four years, Epic
Burger has grown to seven Chicagoland locations, with the most recent addition
having opened in River North at 407 North Clark Street in September 2012.
“Scott
has extensive leadership experience at some of the top restaurant groups in the
U.S.,” said Friedman. “We are excited to have him on board to further Epic
Burger’s expansion in the Chicago market and beyond.”
Norrick
joins Epic Burger with 12 years of executive level restaurant experience. He
most recently served for three years as Senior Vice President of Development
for Potbelly Sandwich Works. At Potbelly, Norrick helped re-launch its unit
expansion program. As a result, Potbelly opened more than 50 new shops during
his tenure, including successful entries into the New York City, Boston and
West Coast markets. Prior to his tenure at Potbelly, Norrick held executive
positions with Darden Restaurants, the world’s largest full-service restaurant
company, and Steak ‘n Shake. He holds a Masters of Business Administration from
the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
Friedman
will remain engaged in the business, focusing primarily on public relations,
brand initiatives, concept development and culture building. Both Norrick and Friedman will serve on
Epic Burger’s Board of Directors.
