their food in cooking and salad dressings were 41% less likely to suffer from
an ischemic stoke than people who did not use olive oil. An ischemic stroke, in which blood flow to a
part of the brain is blocked, is the most common kind of stroke. (Cecilia

Your Heart: People who smiled after a stressful task
showed a greater decline in heart rate and faster recovery from stress than

Chia Seeds Are Good For You: Have you ever had a Chia Pet? Well the seeds
provide healthful omega-3 fats, fiber, protein, calcium, iron, zinc, and other
beneficial minerals. They may slow
absorption of sugar and help reduce cholesterol. Add the seeds to cereal, oatmeal, or yogurt.
You can buy them at a health food store or online.

Letter from the Executive Director
Our Grand Opening Social Networking event on September 23rd was
amazing!!! There were 69 guests who joined
us to help launch our new site for the Motivational Institute of Hypnotherapy
and our integrative Wellness Center.
Make your life an exclamation, not an explanation.
The little book DON'T SWEAT THE SMALL STUFF... and it's all small stuff, by Richard Carlson, PhD, reminds me of the importance of how to laugh at problems and stresses in our lives. In retrospect, there usually is a
funny or ridiculous side to any problem…if we allow ourselves to see it.
Before a big meeting, important date, (or any other
situation that makes you nervous), put on a favorite song, take a powerful
stance in front of a full-length mirror, smile a cocksure smile, and slowly nod
your head yes. Watch this powerful YOU in the mirror for a few moments…and
breathe. Feel the confident energy course though your veins. Before walking
away from the mirror, squeeze both your fists tight, take a deep breath, and
say to yourself, "Yes I Can!!!"
If you feel nervous later in the day, squeezing your fists
again will act as a kinesthetic anchor that helps your mind and body recall the
feeling of power that you felt in front of the mirror. The more you do this, the more powerful the
change you will experience. And after
it’s all over with, you can later enjoy a good laugh about it.
Focus on what you
have, what you like, and what you want (not on what you lack, dislike, and don’t want). Focus is like a penlight in the dark--it
illuminates only a very small portion of what surrounds you. Whatever you
choose to illuminate is the direction your life will take you.
