Holiday News and Wishes to You

Greetings of the Season!

These are days of generosity, celebrations and new beginnings.  Our students, led by the 3rd graders, collected more than 3,000 food items for the Assumption Church Food Pantry.  Their teachers then made good on their food-drive challenge -- in a dunk tank in the Community Prep parking lot on December 18! There was reason to celebrate when one of our alums, Dymond Bush '05, was crowned Miss Black Rhode Island 2016. In addition, our 8th's graders were recently featured in a National Public Radio story on All Things Considered about an innovative program to teach vocabulary using hip-hop lyrics.  For a new beginning, we'll be updating you as we start construction later this year on a new addition to the school.

An end-of-year tax-deductible gift to Community Prep is a great way to help us wrap up 2015.  Your donation gives us the tools to empower students of diverse backgrounds to achieve their full potential and become future community leaders. Please donate now.

Best wishes for a 2016 filled with celebration, new projects, and peace from all of us at Community Prep!
