Everything’s Coming Up Dance Tunes at Swingtime’s May Ball
$5 Dance Lessons Available One Hour Before Event Begins
Dancers and those who just like to listen will enjoy an evening of Big Band favorites as Swingtime presents its annual “May Flowers Ball” on Friday, May 20 from 7 to 10 p.m. at the Melbourne Auditorium, 625 E. Hibiscus Ave. Dance tickets are $7 in advance at various outlets, or $10 at the door or online.
Conductor Art Martin will lead the band in a variety of popular arrangements from In The Mood, Satin Doll, and Mack The Knife, to You're Nobody ‘Till Somebody Loves You, Bandstand Boogie, and some Latin tunes and ballads. Popular local vocalists Sally Hart and Len Fallen will perform.
The event is BYOB and the band auxiliary will have a concession table with snacks, soft drinks, bottled water and ice for sale. Tables can be reserved in advance for eight or more people by calling MMB Auxiliary President Marci Hutson at 321-339-7705.
Advance tickets may be purchased in Melbourne at WMMB Radio and the Liberty Bell Memorial Museum, at Marion Music in Palm Bay, Brass and Reed Music Center in Merritt Island, Guitar Haven in Indian Harbor Beach, and Art Gallery of Viera.
