Temple Terrace History Heritage Weekend

TTHickory_a-300x194January 19-21, history comes alive during a weekend long event at the Temple Terrace Golf & Country Club featuring two hickory golf tournaments: one for amateurs, and one for professionals. Pre-1930s authentic era hickory shafted clubs and balls are provided. Period attire is suggested. Golf enthusiasts are encouraged to attend to watch professional golfers compete at the historic golf course the way it was meant to be played with hickory equipment. Proceeds benefit the non-profit Temple Terrace Preservation Society.

REMINDER: Deadline is February 1, 2013.

Since 1982, Tampa Preservation, Inc. has been recognizing significant contributions to the preservation of Tampa’s historic resources through our Annual Award Program. TPI invites members of the community to submit nominations for outstanding historic preservation projects, programs and achievements by individuals and organizations. Awards are presented at the TPI annual awards ceremony in May, including the presentation of the Preserved Banners. 


Applications are available on the TPI website.

Historic Ybor City Home for Sale

The City of Tampa (“City”) is offering to sell one historic building located at 2709 North 19th Street (the “Property”) within the East Tampa Community Redevelopment Area and Ybor City Local Historic District. The building is being sold “AS IS” and one Open House Event will be held on Tuesday, January 15, 2013 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

The Preservation Roundtable meets on the first Wednesday of every month to discuss issues related to the preservation of Tampa Bay area historic resources. The meetings start at 9 a.m. and are currently being held at the TPI office conference room in the Ybor City Museum.
