LOT 2: HAPPY EATING AT BON APPÉTIT

Be honest. How many times have you turned the pages of Bon Appétit and drooled over luscious images of crisply seared trout, perfectly poached eggs with roasted asparagus, or a beautiful grill-marked ribeye, and thought, “I just want to eat that?” Well here’s your chance. The fabulous cooks in the test kitchen of the premier magazine for all things food – along with a to-be-announced-mystery guest chef – are inviting you and eleven of your friend up to the test kitchen for a meal fit for the magazine’s cover.

Renowned Italian Vintner Antonio Zaccheo of Carpineto wines will provide the wine.

Maira Kalman is an illustrator, author, designer and frequent contributor to The New Yorker. Her recent work includes illustrating Michael Pollan’s classic, Food Rules.

Michael Anthony is the award-winning executive chef of Gramercy Tavern. He won the 2012 James Beard award for ‘Best Chef in New York City’.

LOT 5: JAKE. YOUR EDIBLE SCHOOLYARD TOUR GUIDE

Yes, that Jake. Jake Gyllenhaal, actor, our Spring Benefit honoree, and longtime supporter of Edible Schoolyard NYC, is taking you and your friends on a private Edible Schoolyard at P.S. 216 tour. He knows the garden well — he planted a pear tree in it at the groundbreaking ceremony in 2010. Oh, and he’s staying for lunch! Famed Brooklyn restaurant Roberta’s is transporting its pizza oven to P.S. 216 to prepare lunch from the garden, in the garden, for you and your guests.

Since 2008, Roberta’s has been serving some of Brooklyn’s finest fare, with an emphasis on local, sustainably sourced ingredients. In August 2011, The New York Times named Roberta’s ‘one of the more extraordinary restaurants in the United States.’

For up to ten people. Date to be mutually agreed upon. All food costs included. No alcohol permitted.

LOT 6: COCKTAILS, CANAPÉS AND CHEMISTRY

You bring the booze, he’ll bring the “buzz.” Dave Arnold, Momofuku’s mad scientist mixologist at Booker and Dax, will use his centrifuge — or immersion circulator, or rotary evaporator, or whatever other gadget he’s currently tinkering on — to create the signature cocktails, and no doubt conversation pieces, for your private party of up to thirty guests. There will probably be some liquid nitrogen too. Canapés will be created and supplied by the culinary masters at Bite; Altadonna Wine and Prosecco also included.

At Booker and Dax, Dave Arnold uses new techniques and technologies in the pursuit of making delicious drinks. In 2004 he founded the Museum of Food and Drink in New York. In 2005 the International Culinary Center tapped him to head its new Culinary Technology department.

Bite brings a unique, chef-driven sensibility to the catering arena. Celebrating flavor first, Bite’s chefs create a cuisine distinguished by intensity, balance and precision. Altadonna wines are native Italian varietal wines made from grapes selected from premier vineyards by Italy’s most lauded winemaker, Stefano Chioccoli.

For up to thirty people. Date and location to be mutually agreed upon. All liquor to be provided by auction winner. Prosecco and all food costs for canapés
are included.
