Hansel and Gretel Cast Announced
If you've been waiting for the announcement of the cast for our holiday show, Hansel and Gretel, your wait is over!
Suzanne Hansen as the Witch
Melina Pyron as Hansel, Amanda Gardner-Porter as Gretel
Jason Detwiler as Peter, the father and Michele Detwiler as Gertrude, the mother
Victoria Arriero as the Sandman/Dew Fairy
Local favorites Michele and Jason Detwiler, husband and wife in real life, portray the same as parents of Hansel and Gretel. Amanda Gardner-Porter makes the transition from mezzo-soprano in her debut as a soprano in her role as Gretel. Melina Pyron from Missoula, MT makes her Opera Idaho debut as Hansel, as does local soprano Victoria Arriero as the Sandman/Dew Fairy. And Suzanne Hansen takes the role everyone comes to see - the Witch (who eats children, of course!) Sean Rogers is the Music Director, and the opera features Opera Idaho's own Children's Choruses.
Hansel and Gretel is a delightful, family oriented production for children of all ages (even children at heart). Invite your friends and family to experience this wonderful opera. Click here for more information.
