4th Big Announcement - Evangelization Training
SJHFlogo
Dear Handmaids and Servants of the Gardener,

Our 4th Big Announcement of 2015 concerns evangelization training. We are excited that the flPope Francis waving1ame of the Holy Spirit is being fanned by Pope Francis and the many other initiatives in the Church to share the Good News of Jesus Christ with so many persons who have never heard of him before. We want this message of salvation to spread far and wide.

Our efforts include On-Campus events and Off-Campus activities. Below are the ones scheduled thus far. Your participation and the participation of others will determine their effectiveness. Don't quench the Spirit! Trust Him to lead you along the path that you should go.

OFF-CAMPUS TRAINING: Catechism of the Catholic Church

We received enough persistent feedback at the end of 2014 that we have decided to initiate an extended training in the Catechism of the Catholic Church. These classes will be held at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church, 3500 St. Philip Road S., Mt. Vernon, IN 47620.

We have taught smaller segments of the Catechism before in different parishes and dioceses, but this will be the first long-term study. We have desired to do this at God's Country, but it makes more sense to go to a larger concentration of the Catholic population. The hospitality of Fr. Claude Burns, Pastor, and Deacon Charlie Koressel, Director of Pastoral Ministries, is gratefully accepted.

This will ONLY work if there are enough regular attendees. You need to RSVP by Feb. 7 so that we can determine for how many participants we need to plan. The schedule of topics will be distributed on the first day. Suggested donation to SJHF is $75 per day. You need to bring your Bible and a copy of the Catechism of the Catholic Church. ANYONE is invited to these classes. No previous knowledge of the Catechism is necessary. The following is the proposed schedule for 2015:

In addition, I will be Off-Campus at other times to train Catholics in evangelization for different organizations. We will gladly accept your prayers for all of these efforts.

As a matter of fact, we cannot remain faithful in any of these activities without prayer. So, the renewal of Catholic family life is the main prayer intention of our Monthly 2nd Thursday Holy Hour at Our Lady of Lourdes Grotto beneath St. Boniface Catholic Church, 418 N. Wabash Avenue, Evansville, IN, 6:30-7:30 p.m.

Deacon Thomas Kempf, Jr. usually presides and preaches. Deacon Thomas Lehman often leads the Rosary or substitutes for the other Deacon Tom. In preparation for the World Meeting of Families and the Ordinary Syond of Bishops on the Family, our Holy Hours in 2015 could benefit much from the preparatory catechesis Love is Our Mission: The Family Fully Alive.

The following is the proposed schedule for the rest of the year.

We certainly hope that you will join us. We would like to multiply these Holy Hours for the renewal of Catholic family life in surrounding arch/dioceses. With these two major events concerning the family in the life of the Church happening this year, it is the perfect time to institute such a monthly holy hour. Please let us know how we can help you to get one started in your locality.

St. Francis of Assisi, pray for us.
St. Philip the Apostle, pray for us.
St. Boniface, pray for us.
Blessed Louis and Zelie Martin, pray for us and for the renewal of Catholic family life.

God's PEACE!
Mark

By God's grace, may I be mistaken someday as the Gardener's servant (see Jn. 20:15).
