urbanplanning 2
TREK is a multi-level learning experience for all grade levels. Students will investigate The Bottoms and the 10th Street Development District to determine how Townview can become an active community member. They will present their ideas in a premise document that will explore the history of the area, observations made about the existing community structure in response to challenge questions, design proposals, and impact statements. Students will communicate their design proposals through visual aides presented on the final afternoon at the presentation convention. It will be held Sept. 25, 26, 27 (optional Saturday community service), 29 & 30 from 9:15 am to 5:00pm.
TREK requires at least 10 parent volunteers per shift (am and pm) over the five days of TREK. See above information: It is fine to volunteer for a half-day, a full-day, a single session, or all days.
Click here to volunteer, then click on the "View" button next to "TAG TREK Days" in orange).

From the Counseling Office: PSAT on Wed., Oct. 15th

9th, 10th, and 11th graders will take the PSAT on Wed., Oct 15th. Students will be given the Official Student Guide to the PSAT/NMSQT on Sept 23rd & 24th in their English classes. The guide includes practice questions and information about the National Merit Program, including a list of universities that award National Merit scholarships (p.19), as well as other corporations offering scholarships to National Merit students.  Remember that National Merit qualification comes from the performance on the PSAT taken during the junior year (scoring in the 99th percentile).  For 9th and 10th graders, it is practice. Scores generally arrive in mid-December. In the last few years, students have been receiving emails from the College Board stating that their scores are available. This email has been arriving before the scores actually arrive on the TAG campus. Therefore, please ignore this email. Generally, we disseminate score sheets and the students’ original test booklets with an explanation sheet within a day of their arrival on our campus.
