HELP NEEDED PLEASE: with the Legislative Session now happening we need your help with three bills....

Call for action:                                                  Lets Help Harry Kim with this bill...

We need support to get a hearing on a bill to Repeal Act 07, SB3021. Please politely ask that the Chair of Senate Water and Land Committee     ( WTL ), Sen. Malama Solomon schedules a hearing on this important bill. Please spread the word.

We believe Energy & Environment committee ( ENE) and Public Safety, Intergovernmental and Military Affairs committee ( PSM ) will hear it if WTL committee agrees.

We need comments sent to all members of this committee, please!  Tell them to hear this bill:                                                                           Subject line:  SB3021, "Relating to Geothermal Resources" Repeal Act 97.

Please send your comments, faxes and phone calls to the members of the WTL committee. We have found it helps if you can keep your comments as factual, reasoned, and short as possible, remember to try and be polite in your comments as well, that will help us as we talk with the legislators. Some of these people are already our friends, others do not understand the issue and need our help.

Lets kill these two bad bills...now!

We need an email phone and fax campaign to ensure these two bad bills do not get scheduled for hearing. The two bills are HB2506 and SB3058.

Email subject line:  HB2506 Relating to Agriculture:

Please send a polite email, phone or fax to the following:

We need to send emails to the House Agriculture Committee Chair Rep. Wooley repwooley@capitol.hawaii.gov phone: 808-586-8540

Clearly the people of the island of Hawaii and Kauai believe this is a home rule issue and the authority must remain with the County.

Please address the committee members personally when sending them comments.

Visit our website punapono.com for information about Fracking (Enhanced Geothermal), Geothermal, making testimony at the Senate, House, and County, etc...it's a great resource!

We sometimes ask for people to come out and support us with testimony, especially when important legislation is being passed. This can be done in person, in writing, by email or video.
If you have never given testimony but would like to, we can guide you in this process. It's an empowering thing to do and an action that is of immense value when it comes to passing legislation. When the 'we the people speak' en masse, the politicians listen!

Visit the Puna Pono Alliance booth at Maku''u Market on Sundays, and pick up information and a T shirt. Talk to your neighbors, work colleagues, family and friends about the future you want for Puna.

If you have an organization that you are a part of and would like to have PPA do a presentation please email barb@punapono.com with details.

If you want to get involved, there are lots of ways to help. Come to the Tuesday Meeting at HAAS, 15-1397 Homestead Road, Pahoa, at 4.30pm and get involved.
