1. How much does it cost?
Through generous donations and grants, we are able to allow children to participate for $3 each. This is paid at the audition.
(If you would like to donate to help keep these programs affordable, please click here.)
2. How long are auditions? Do we need to prepare?
The doors close at 4:00 and open when the audition is over at 6:00. Auditions are fun and interactive, and your child does not need to prepare anything beforehand.
3. Can I watch the auditions?
Sorry, but no. Auditions are closed. You are welcome to come back for your child at 6:00 pm, or wait in the lobby.
4. What if they don't make it in?
Caldwell Fine Arts is dedicated to making sure that all children who audition have the chance to appear on stage. Rapunzel has a set number of cast members, so we offer a fun preshow before the performance of Rapunzel. All children will be cast in one of these two productions at the end of the audition time.
5. How much time is involved?
The time commitment varies for which show your child is cast in, and which part they get. A couple of hours after school each day would be a good average. Lead parts may be asked to rehearse on Monday after the auditions. Some parts may require a split rehearsal during the week, with a dinner break in between. You will receive a schedule after your child auditions. Your child should have a clear schedule the week of the show. One of the best things about participating in Missoula Children's Theatre is that it is a busy week...but it is just one week!
6. Do they have to miss school?
Children cast in Rapunzel will be asked to be part of the performance for local schools at Jewett Auditorium on February 7 during the school day. This also serves as their dress rehearsal on the stage. We can provide school notes if necessary.
7. Do we have to buy expensive costumes?
No. Children will be given costumes, or be asked to bring things they already have at home. No need to buy anything.
8. What ages can participate?
Children in grades 1 - 12 are welcome.
9. Can I watch the performances? How much are tickets?
Come cheer on your child! Order tickets online at www.caldwellfinearts.org, purchase at the door, or call 459-5783. Seating is General Admission.
Tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for students and children.
