SIGN UP TO RECEIVE TEXTS ALERTS REGARDING EMERGENCY SITUATIONS
The 4J School District has a rapid notification system that can be used to notify parents and guardians by email, phone and text message about emergency and high-priority situations as well as general school event notifications. It is critical that parents provide complete and accurate information to the school. Be sure to update any changes in contact information.
To receive these messages by text:
- Parents must opt in before you will receive a text.
- Using a phone associated with your students school record, send a text that says JOIN to short code 56360. Text STOP to short code 56360 to opt out
Schools or the district may use the rapid notification system to communicate to parents and emergency contact persons during urgent situations. Messages are not automatic, nor are they instantaneous, as the school must have time to send a message with clear and confirmed information. However, once sent, messages will reach recipients very quickly.
Emergency-related information may also be posted on the district’s website, www.4j.lane.edu
, or on social media.
When winter weather makes conditions hazardous, schools may be closed or delayed or buses may use snow routes. How to find out if there's a change:
• Text-message alerts — to subscribe, text FOLLOW 4JWEATHER to 40404
• 4J website, www.4j.lane.edu
• KRVM 91.9 FM
• Other radio and television news stations
