1. DanceAbility Teacher Certification Course
in July, 2017

Where: Lisbon, Portugal

Sunday, July 2 - Friday, July 28, 2017
            Approximately 10:00a.m. - 5:00p.m.

Taught by Alito Alessi in English, with translation into Portuguese.
Alito Alessi is the founder of the DanceAbility method, which connects people with and without disabilities through dance and movement improvisation. He is a world leader in the field and was awarded a Guggenheim Fellowship for his contributions to increasing diversity in dance.

2. DanceAbility Teacher Certification Course in August, 2017

Where: Thessaloniki, Greece

Sunday, August 6 - Friday, September 1, 2017
            Approximately 10:00a.m. - 5:00p.m.

Taught by Alito Alessi in English, with translation into Greek

Early Bird Discount: Sign up by October 14, 2016, and receive a 150 euro reduction in tuition. (Full tuition is 1500 euros, or 1350 with early sign up.)

Date: Wednesday, October 26th to Sunday, October 30th from 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Where: Montevideo, Uruguay  

With Alito Alessi, taught in English, with Spanish translation.

Date: First Weekend: Friday, October 28 - Saturday, October 30th and

      Second Weekend: Saturday, December 10 - Sunday, December 11, 9:30a.m. - 4:30p.m.

Where: Trier, Germany

DanceAbility Teacher Orientations (Five days or two weekends)
These courses include
  • Foundation exercises introducing basic concepts of movement improvisation for people of all abilities, based on things that can be done by ALL participants
  • How to guide people to be aware of their potential for movement and for communication
  • Movement explorations and games for individuals, partners, and small and large groups
  • Adaptations for people with hearing or visual impairments, intellectual disabilities, and/or very limited mobility
  • Integration of Contact Improvisation: learning to improvise using physical contact
