Greetings fellow teachers,

As the school year kicks into gear we wanted to share tips and tricks to help you make the most of YouTube. James Sanders, the Innovation Manager for KIPP Bay Area schools, put together this great presentation on the top 10 ways for teachers to use YouTube. Whether you want to make your class more engaging, or you’re tasked with leading PD for your fellow teachers, we hope this presentation helps (and remember, YouTube.com/Teachers has even more training info).

Last week we asked for your favorite educational videos, playlists and channels and we received hundreds of great suggestions - thank you! You found some real gems, like the Untamed Science channel or this teacher rap “All I do is Solve” - that’ll get your students to pay attention.

We also worked with a team of teachers this past year to curate playlists of videos to align with common core standards. Of the 500 topics we identified, we’ve curated over 300 great playlists, but we’re still missing a number. You can find the full list of missing playlists here - we’d love you to submit playlists for these topics.

Thanks and hope the year is off to a great start!

Sincerely,

Computer-Using Educators (CUE) & YouTube EDU
