Because Service Doesn't Stop on Sundays.
Our event was a huge success!! The families are ecstatic and grateful to the donors and the congregation—without you all this project would not have had the success we saw today. I, personally, will be forever grateful for the action on your part to spread the word. I am in awe at the amount of donations and pray that God blesses your congregation the way you blessed ours.

From Cindy Portillo's Thank You Email + Report on Saturday's Food Drive for IRPE Families

Thank you so much for donating gift cards to support and empower your neighbors at Doorways! Gift cards are a cricitical rescource for us and our clients, enabling us to respond to their needs quickly. We are so grateful for your ongoing support and advocacy, and we look forward to continuing to partner with you in the New Year.

Worship Notes.

Angles in the sky are a key part of the Christmas story. In one of this week's scriptures, an angel speaks to Joseph in a dream. Following Jesus takes us to some mysterious and unlikely places where God's realm is becoming manifest in ways as unlikely as Joseph's circumstances. God's realm is a place of new life where everyday angels care for God's creation.

Each year our congregation collects gift cards to help neighbors seeking help from Doorways shelter. This year, we also joined an impromptu effort to also help our neighbors who share our church building. Above are pictures from the recipients of Saturday's food drive where 9 families (with 4+ people in each) receivied 7 lbs of rice, 5 lbs of beans, Maseca, vegetable oil, cereals, an assortment of canned soups, store bought and fresh veggies and chicken. The last two screen shots are additional thank yous from Doorways online.

Our hope and advent joy is the One who lived God's love and showed us what God's peace costs, and how we might live lives of love.
