Dear Bobcat Nation,
Sage Creek students, parents, and staff had a great Dedication Ceremony this past Friday. It was an exceptional experience to have our visionaries of this project side by side with our architects, construction company, and those who have brought Sage Creek to life, our students, staff, and parents. I am proud to be the principal of Sage Creek High school and the great students who have chosen to contribute to creating a second to none high school experience.
Speaking of an exceptional high school experience, I invite you to read below about the latest on the Sage Creek’s second phase of construction.

SCHS Dedication Memories
Sage Creek High School hosted an enthusiastic crowd of over 500 students, teachers, and special guests for its dedication on Friday, October 25, 2013. From the original Sage Creek High School Design Team and the Proposition P Oversight Committee to the new SCHS 9th grade class, all were present in the gym to celebrate the new school.
The ceremony opened with a beautiful rendition of the national anthem by SCHS ninth grader Brooke Kibby
, and joined by a Marine Corps color guard. Balfour Beatty Construction
presented the school with a commemorative podium, and the architects from RNT explained many of the environmental features of the award-winning project. Board President Elisa Williamson
introduced an impressive list of current and former board members, administrators, builders, elected officials, and community participants who had a hand in the seven-year process of planning, designing, and building the school. (Click to download our SCHS Dedication Program
But it was ASB President Caleb Strachan’s rousing speech that brought down the house. Caleb implored the group to embrace their unique talents, and SCHS students rose to their feet in a standing ovation.
In the words of Principal Cesar Morales
, “It was an exceptional experience to have the visionaries of this project side by side with our architects, construction company, and those who have brought Sage Creek to life, our students, staff, and parents. I am proud to be the principal of Sage Creek High School and the great students who chose to contribute to creating a second-to-none high school experience.”
Phase 2 Construction Projects at SCHS: Performing Arts Center
On Wednesday, October 23, the CUSD Board approved moving forward with the construction of a performing arts center at Sage Creek High School. In addition to serving the needs of SCHS students, this facility will also serve as a second performance venue to meet the growing demands from our elementary and middle school groups, as well as the greater community.
College & Career: The "c" Requirement
Three years of mathematics courses are required to satisfy the “c” requirement of the “a-g” requirements. At minimum, students need to complete Algebra 1, Geometry and Algebra 2 to meet this requirement. For college admission purposes, colleges will accept Algebra taken in middle school as one of the three math courses. For CUSD requirements, all three math courses must be taken at the high school level.
