NORTH COBB HIGH SCHOOL MARCHING BAND 2015-2016


UNIFORM FITTING


Students that have not been fitted for their uniform need to be at the school on Monday the 27th by 3:00 PM 



Fee Payment

 

All fees should be paid in full by October 1, 2015.  Statements are sent at the beginning of every month.  If you are not receiving statements please contact Beth Atkinson at finance@nchsband.com .

 

Now that the season is beginning, there are 3 options for payments. 

-Your student may place a payment in the secured lockbox at the back of the band room

-Mail payment to: NCHS Band Boosters P.O. Box 539, Acworth, GA 30101

-Via paypal through link on website nchsband.com


Please put your student's name on the check or envelope so we are sure we are giving credit t the right child.



*VOLUNTEERS NEEDED*

Volunteer Training

If you are planning on working with the kids in any way this season, then it is mandatory that you attend one of the training nights. There is still one training session that you can attend.

New Chaperone training will be held at North Cobb High School on July 28th at 7:30 PM

**You can also sign up for all parent volunteer positions on this night!

VOLUNTEERS are ALWAYS needed and we are sure there is something for everyone.

*We have positions for frontline, chaperones, welcome committee, hospitality, fundraising and many more.
You can also contact any of the board members to let them know of your interest.*



CAR POOL OPPORTUNITY


We have magnet parents asking if any band students living in the Piedmont/SPlains/Roswell area would like to form a carpool. 

We can appreciate the difficulty it causes to participate in every event and even to volunteer living such a distance away.

Please send Liana Parker (secretary) a private message if you are interested. Email is on the North Cobb website.



BAND CAMP ESSENTIALS

Parents, please help us help your children. Below is a list that will help keep your student safe and comfortable during band camp. They will be spending a great deal of time outside, so please dress for the heat. No jeans. PLEASE make sure they are well hydrated BEFORE they come and have eaten lunch PRIOR to coming to the school. We look forward to seeing everyone soon.


WATER BOTTLE - We will provide coolers to refill them throughout the day. THIS IS A BIG DEAL WITH THE TEMPERATURES WE ARE EXPERIENCING.


CLOSED TOED SHOES - no flip flops or sandals.


Comfortable, appropriate clothing. Hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, bug spray.


Pencil, music, instrument, reeds, valve oil, etc to keep your instrument functioning.


DINNER - They will get a dinner break. Please send them with a sack meal or make arrangements to bring them something. Students cannot leave the school campus on break. It is important that everyone eat properly to avoid issues with heat and energy levels.

*Medical Form - This form must be signed and notarized to participate and must be done before the first football game.

*Family Day Flyer - This has a section where you can order your meals and does have a due date.

*Raffle Ticket Packet


Flyer regarding the schedule for the DCI Show has also gone out but see below for the schedule.


KONA ICE NIGHT


This Tuesday July 28th The band and color guard will be treated to Kona Ice at 9:00 PM after practice. This is a treat that the band boosters pay for and there is no extra charge to you.





FAMILY DAY AUGUST 15th


Family Day is a fun day for everyone! Please come out and support our kids!

Practice runs from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm

Lunch will be provided for the students.

There will be fun activities such as water games and bouncy houses for the students.

Families are invited to arrive between 5:00PM and 6:00PM

You will have the opportunity to meet other parents, purchase meals and some of this year's very cool spirit wear.

At 7:00 PM we'll be treated to a portion of this season's half-time show, showcasing all the hard work the kids and staff have done.

 

New Spirit Wear has been ordered and will be sold on family day. The new styles and designs are amazing and you don't want to miss out!

  9. October 1O- Competition TBA
  10. October 16- home vs Marietta (Homecoming)
  11. October 23- open
  12. October 24- Competition TBA
  13. October 30- away vs North Paulding
  14. November 6- home vs Kennesaw Mountain (Senior Night)
  15. November 7- Competition TBA

* Senior night is very important. All seniors (with their parents)  are recognized prior to the game.
