North Cobb High School Band 2016-2017


There will be a mandatory meeting for all band and color guard parents on Tuesday, July 19th at 7:00pm.

At this meeting you will have an opportunity to meet the band directors and camp staff as well as your booster board. You can also sign up for volunteer positions at the meeting.

Medical forms will be sent home with each student on Monday after practice. Parents, please complete the form without signature and bring it to the parent meeting on Tuesday evening July 19th. We will have volunteers to notarize your form for free. You will need to sign the form in front of the person notarizing. Thank You!

Parents, please help us help your children. Below is a list that will help keep your student safe and comfortable during band camp. They will be spending a great deal of time outside, so please dress for the heat. No jeans. PLEASE make sure they are well hydrated BEFORE they come and have eaten lunch PRIOR to coming to the school. We look forward to seeing everyone soon.

WATER BOTTLE - We will provide coolers to refill them throughout the day. THIS IS A BIG DEAL WITH THE TEMPERATURES WE ARE EXPERIENCING.

CLOSED TOED SHOES - no flip flops or sandals.

Also needed:

Comfortable, appropriate clothing

Hat/Visor & sunglasses

Sunscreen & bug spray

Pencil, music, instrument, reeds, valve oil, etc. to keep your instrument functioning.

DINNER - They will get a dinner break. Please send them with a sack meal or make arrangements to bring them something. Students cannot leave the school campus on break. It is important that everyone eat properly to avoid issues with heat and energy levels.

Band Camp Chaperones Needed!!!

We still have several slots open for chaperones (volunteers) during band camp. If you went through the chaperone training last year with Janeen Amason, you’re qualified. Even if the year happened a little quicker than you expected and you were never able to chaperone an event.

We will team you up with someone that knows the ropes and we’ll make sure you have a smooth entry into the world of serving our students. The primary focus for chaperones during camp is to make sure everyone stays hydrated and help out with any minor injuries.

Uniform Fitting Volunteers Needed


It's that time of year again! Time to get the NCHS Warrior Band looking sharp. We will be fitting the kids for uniforms during the first full week of band camp (July 18-22). There is no sewing and no prior experience required for helping out. This is a great way to get to meet lots of the kids at once so it’s perfect for brand new band parents as well as familiar faces.

If you would like to volunteer on the day your child will be fitted, take a look at the schedule below. Please consider signing up for as many spots as your schedule will allow. We have a very limited amount of time to get 200+ students fitted for their uniforms so that we can get them cleaned and prepped for the first game. 

Seniors will be fitted on Monday, July 18th
Juniors will be fitted on Tuesday, July 19th
Sophomores will be fitted on Wednesday, July 20th
Freshman A-L will be fitted on Thursday, July 21st
Freshman M-Z will be fitted on Friday, July 22nd

All time slots will be from 10:45 am - 1:00 pm.

Pizza Night Volunteers Needed

Help is needed to chaperone and serve food & drinks for Pizza Night on July 21st from 8:30 - 11:30 at NCHS. Please use the link to sign up to volunteer. Thank you!

Student Leadership Clinic

Scott Lang, a national student leadership consultant, will be at Campbell High School on Wednesday, July 27th from 1:00-3:30. If your student is interested in growing as a leader and person, this clinic would be a great experience for them! Cost is $10 and that includes a pizza dinner. Students from all sixteen Cobb County high schools will be present representing their communities. This opportunity is open to anyone currently, or aspiring to be a leader in the North Cobb Band. We will collect the $10 and register them for it. Forms will be available in my office on Monday and $$ will be due by Friday the 22nd.

If you are planning on being a chaperone or in any way working with the kids then it is mandatory that you attend one of the training nights listed below.....

Seasoned Chaperone training will be held at North Cobb High School on Thursday, July 21st at 7:30 PM

New Chaperone training will be held at North Cobb High School on Tuesday, July 26th at 7:30 PM


The band will be attending the DCI (Drum Corps International) show at the Georgia Dome on July 30th.

Approximate departure time from school is 5:30 PM, returning at approximately 12:00 AM

This is a great show and lots of fun for everyone!

Please be aware that an email with a sign up genius will be sent out to give you the opportunity to purchase some extra DCI and bus tickets if you want to attend with your student.

The cost will be $10 for chaperones and $25 for each parent/family member. A parent/family bus will be available at an additional $15 per seat.


Fees for the season are due in full on October 1, 2016. We encourage you to make monthly payments to make it easier on the wallet. Payments can be made this summer via PayPal through the link on the band website or mail a check to NCHS Band Booster, P.O. Box 539, Acworth, GA 30101. Now that band camp has started, you can use the box at the back of the band room.

Please put your student's name on the check or envelope so we are sure we are giving credit to the right child.

1st Band Booster Meeting
August 8th @ 7:30pm

These meetings are open to all band parents and they are a great way to keep up to date on all that is going on with the band program. Booster meetings take place on the second Monday of every month and are held in the band room at 7:30pm.



August 13th 9:00 am to 9:00 pm

Family Day is a fun day for everyone! Please come out and support our kids!

Practice runs from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm

Lunch will be provided for the students.

There will be fun activities such as water games and bouncy houses.

Parents will have the opportunity to meet other parents, purchase meals and some of this year's very cool spirit wear.

At 7:00 PM we'll be treated to a portion of this season's half-time show, showcasing all the hard work the kids and staff have done.
