North Cobb High School Band 2016-2017


Who needs to attend?  Anyone planning on volunteering for the NCHS Marching Band (hospitality, chaperones, front line, 8th grade night, uniforms, etc) and you did not attend the meeting on the 21st.

When & Where? Tuesday, July 26th @ 7:30 PM in the Chorus Room which is located down the hall from the band room on the left.

Why should I attend? It is mandatory for all volunteers to receive important information from our directors before being around the students. You will also receive information from each committee about the role they play and how you can sign up to become part of their support team.

Medical forms were sent home with each student last week. Each student must have a notarized form on file in order to travel with the North Cobb Band which means anyone going to the DCI show must have a form on file by Saturday, July 30th.

We will have volunteers to notarize your form for free at the volunteer training on July 26th. You will need to sign the form in front of the person notarizing. Thank You! 


The band will be attending the DCI show at the Georgia Dome on July 30th.

Departure time from school is 5:30 PM, returning at approximately 12:00 AM

This is a great show and lots of fun for everyone!

The cost will be $10 for chaperones and $25 for each parent/family member. A parent/family bus will be available at an additional $15 per seat.

Please click on the sign-up link below if you would like to purchase tickets for your family to attend the show. Please note that you will need to sign up for a ticket and a bus seat if you plan to ride the bus.  If we do not have enough parents sign up we will have to cancel the parent bus.

Payment for any tickets or seats requested must be received by Friday, July 29th. Please drop all payments into the gray payment box in the band room.


Parents, please help us help your children. Below is a list that will help keep your student safe and comfortable during band camp. They will be spending a great deal of time outside, so please dress for the heat. No jeans. PLEASE make sure they are well hydrated BEFORE they come and have eaten lunch PRIOR to coming to the school. We look forward to seeing everyone soon.

WATER BOTTLE - We will provide coolers to refill them throughout the day. THIS IS A BIG DEAL WITH THE TEMPERATURES WE ARE EXPERIENCING.

CLOSED TOED SHOES - no flip flops or sandals.

Also needed:

Comfortable, appropriate clothing

Hat/Visor & sunglasses

Sunscreen & bug spray

Pencil, music, instrument, reeds, valve oil, etc. to keep your instrument functioning.

DINNER - They will get a dinner break. Please send them with a sack meal or make arrangements to bring them something. Students cannot leave the school campus on break. It is important that everyone eat properly to avoid issues with heat and energy levels.

The Annual Band Raffle starts Wednesday, July 27, 2016.  Raffle tickets and information will be sent home with the students Wednesday, July 27.  Please be on the look-out for the information.  Good luck!


August 13th 9:00 am to 9:00 pm

Family Day is a fun day for everyone! Please come out and support our kids! Practice runs from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. 

Lunch will be provided for the students. There will be fun activities such as water games and bouncy houses. Kona Ice will be available for sale. NCHS Spirit Wear will also be available for sale.

At 7:00 PM we'll be treated to a portion of this season's half-time show, showcasing all the hard work the kids and staff have done. Bring a folding chair if you would like to sit somewhere besides the bleachers.

A flyer was sent home last week with information to order dinner for family members. Your student's meal is covered by his/her band fees so please do not order a meal for your student.

The meal will be catered by Publix Deli. Each dinner will include a choice of sandwich, chips, drink and a cookie. Dinner will be served from 5pm-6pm. The cost is $6 per person before 7/29/16 and $7 per person if ordered between 7/30/16 & 8/5/16.

Deadline to purchase dinner tickets is Friday, August 5, 2016.

Now that the season is beginning, there are 3 options for payments. 

-Your student may place a payment in the secured lockbox at the back of the band room

-Mail payment to: NCHS Band Boosters P.O. Box 539, Acworth, GA 30101

-Via paypal through link on website

Please put your student's name on the check or envelope so we are sure we are giving credit to the right child.

1st Band Booster Meeting
August 8th @ 7:30pm

These meetings are open to all band parents and they are a great way to keep up to date on all that is going on with the band program. Booster meetings take place on the second Monday of every month and are held in the band room at 7:30pm.

  • October 29th - Allatoona HS Competition
  • November 5th - Newnan HS "Old South" Competition
