Small Breed Dog? Avoid These Three Mistakes!
In this podcast, Sean McDaniel, personal dog trainer and host of The Dog's Way, outlines and describes the top three mistakes he sees small breed dog owners making. Sean gives you a remedy for each mistake and a bit of a game plan and homework for you and your small breed dog, if you feel like you’re making these mistakes.
Also, Sean reminds us that these mistakes don’t only apply to a small breed dog and may apply to you too if you have a medium or large sized dog.

Dock Day Afternoon
For those of you that weren't able to join us this time, you missed out!!
It was great weather and a lot of fun for humans and dogs alike!! The day started off with an introduction to the pool by showing the dogs where the ramp to get out is and give them a chance to "get their feet wet." As the day progressed, the dogs moved on to jumping off the dock and swimming back to their handlers.
It should also be mentioned that Miss Freya (Pam C's daughter) and her dog, Edie, stole the day. Freya gave Edie a confidence boost to swim solo and they ended up having races across the pool back to Pam. Kata (a tiny mama chihuahua, who came pregnant on the last transport) also took her turn! She preferred using her life vest as a raft, but even without it, she did great! She looked adorable and had several people waiting to hold her all day. Suki (Rhonda's labradoodle) apparently was a dock dog in her past life! She took to it immediately and was the last dog standing with tail still wagging at the end of the day. Dante (Al and Rae's GSD) did a great job swimming, and most importantly, he serenaded the crowd by singing the songs of his GSD people's (for those of you that have/had GSDs, you know). Teeka (Kristina's GSD) demonstrated excellent swimming skills and behaved like the model veteran K-9 citizen that she is. Annie (Sarah and Madelynn's former foster dog now family member) demonstrated that labs really are made to swim with total grace and efficiency in the water! Rocket (previously Tyler, Matthew's BC mix) lived up to his name. He doesn't have a still bone in his body. This boy was made to do sports!
All in all, it was a great PUP adventure. Thank you again to Michael for
agreeing to be our designated swimmer!
Looking forward to seeing everyone again for the next one!!
Take care and happy training!
We hiked every day of our South Dakota vacation and are making our way home to Oregon now. Emmie is a fabulous traveling companion and our life is so enriched because of her. Thank you for all you do!
