SiVY Volunteers, Past Donors, and Parents,
It’s hard to believe that just three years ago a dedicated group of volunteers under the leadership of Debbie Rosenberg founded Silicon Valley Youth (SiVY) Bridge. In our first three years, SiVY Bridge has exposed hundreds of young people to the challenging and fascinating world of bridge.
This work has been accomplished without paying a penny of salaries to employees and is funded through generous donations.
From our roots teaching bridge to 4th through 8th graders and holding monthly youth bridge social events, SiVY has expanded. We continue to offer elementary and middle school programs, but now also support high school clubs. SiVY has also held two summer camps with a third planned this June, numerous parent/child duplicate games, introduced “Casual Fridays” and our mentorship program, added a successful Youth North American Bridge Championship (NABC) sponsorship program, and sponsored intercollegiate and High School Championship competitions.
The mission underlying all these efforts is promoting excellence in the areas of math, critical thinking and logic, fostering positive social interactions and team work, and providing the foundation for a lifetime of learning, enjoyment and community by inspiring the next generation of players.
Thanks in advance,
