BOARD GAMES NEEDED
Westhill High School's Leading and Developing (LanD) Crew (a peer-to-peer mentoring program) kindly requests donations of any new or gently used board games. Games will serve as a venue for our LanD Crew members to engage with their 9th grade mentees fostering relationships that will build strong and positive social emotional and academic skills that will translate into a more successful transition to High School. Given the short time students will have to play we are looking for games that can be set up, played and cleaned up rather quickly. Suggestion of games that fit this criteria are as follows: Connect Four, Would you Rather, Pictionary, Catch Phrase, Taboo, Apples to Apples, Bananagram, Playing Cards, Trivial Pursuit (Cards only), Checkers, Chess (some games are done quicker than others.), Scatagories, etc. We thank you in advance for your support and generous donations.
Donations may be dropped off in the front office -
"Attn: Mr. Dunlap"

* Taking a closer look at the fat, sugar and salt hiding in your foods
* Learning how to read food labels
* Understanding the difference between “everyday” and “sometimes” foods
* Energy balance: energy in versus energy out
* Setting health goals and developing the tools and skills to achieve them
* Weight management
* Eating too many “junk foods”? Ways to improve eating habits
All interested students must be registered with the SBHC to utilize these services. If you would like to set up a time to meet with nutritionist, Ilaria St. Florian, please go to the SBHC office to register and make an appointment.
TABLE NEEDED FOR
Do you have a table like this to help make the Career Center a more user friendly place where students can hang out and be productive? We are updating the Career Center to provide a better environment for students, and this is an item on our wish list.
If you have a table to donate, or would like to help us buy one, please call Mr. Stepkoski at 203-977-5535. Thanks!
WE ARE IN NEED OF SPIRIT WEAR VOLUNTEERS!
Your next opportunity to buy Spirit Wear
will be Friday,
11:00am - 1:15pm
Please make checks payable to "Westhill PTSO"
We need volunteers to help sell Spirit Wear on Friday afternoons. There will always be a Spirit Wear Committee member at the table, but a 2nd set of hands during the sale really helps.
Studies have shown that parental engagement in a child’s education is the single most important factor in student achievement. The PowerSchool Parent Portal will provide you with secure access to information about your middle school and/or high school children’s grades and attendance records through a single account.
If you are having difficulty accessing the site, please provide your full name, your child's name and grade and as much information about your problem as possible so that we can resolve your issue quickly and route your question to the appropriate person.
Attention all sophomores, juniors
The ASVAB Career Exploration Program
will be administered on
Wednesday, February 3 at Westhill
This three-hour assessment will be offered to WHS 10th, 11th, and 12th graders as part of the ASVAB Career Exploration Program. The program provides tools to help students learn more about career exploration and planning, in both the civilian and military worlds of work. The ASVAB Career Exploration Program is free of charge.
If you are interested, please see your guidance counselor to sign up!
FOOD DONATIONS ARE NEEDED FOR OUR WEEKLY BACKPACK PROGRAM
Please help the WPTSO feed over 30 students through the weekly Backpack Program. We fill backpacks with donated food every Friday and students at risk of going hungry over the weekend pick them up and return them empty Monday morning. Please consider donating non-perishables which you or your student can drop off in the main office.
Most needed items:
Cereal, Peanut butter,
Individual cups of fruit, Tuna,
Canned Chili, Microwave cups of Mac n cheese,
Chef Boy-Ar-Dee pastas
Individual servings and/or small sizes (no glass please) work best for packaging.
