Girls in STEM unite! Tech Savvy Conference is February 27 at Trinity College
Dynamic math and science program welcomes
6th - 9th grade girls, their parents and teachers
Tech Savvy introduces girls in sixth through ninth grades to many types of careers in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM), and teaches “savvy skills” such as negotiation and public speaking.
Parents and guardians are encouraged to attend the Tech Savvy one-day program for adults. Adults receive information on how to help girls get on a path to a college education and a career in STEM.
Tech Savvy at Trinity College (Hartford, Connecticut) will be held on
Feb 27, 2016 from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM.

Taking the Advanced Placement exams is an important part of all AP courses. Westhill High School recommends that all students take AP exams for the AP classes that they have taken. Scoring well on an AP exam can often earn students college credits for their high school class, saving a significant
amount on college tuition.

INTERNSHIP AND SUMMER PROGRAM
To apply for the 2016 Junior Volunteer High School Internship/Summer Program, all forms must be completed and in the Volunteer Services Department by March 14, 2016.
To be considered, each applicant is expected to submit a typed, 150-word essay that explains why they want to volunteer and illustrates the qualities that would make them an exceptional candidate for the Junior Volunteer Program. In addition, students must commit to 30 hours per week during the internship. All volunteers are required to have one tuberculosis test (PPD) and provide documentation of immunizations. All documentation must be completed and submitted in order to be considered as candidate for our program. Volunteers selected for the program, will be provided with an orientation and training.
The Orientation date that will be provided for the Greenwich/Darien/Ridgefield/Wilton Internship program will be held on May 16th from 9:00a.m. - 1p.m.

from 9:00a.m – 1p.m.

Playing an instrument or sharing other talents

· Patient support/visitation, delivering patient flowers and mail

· Concierge Service (making deliveries to employees)
· Rounding on nursing units

The Westhill Winter Percussion Ensemble has enjoyed unprecedented growth this year, but with the large increase in participation comes some growing pains. We are in need of a donation of a relatively recent Macbook to program sound libraries for our synthesizers at shows. We need any model that has a 64-bit processor, at least one working USB port, and is capable of running OS X 10.9.5 or higher.
