One More Week To Go

On Sunday October 11, we wrap up our 2nd summer season. django's will be open Tuesday - Sunday this week from 5-10PM. Then, we break for 6 weeks!

Winter's Almost Here

Snow has already started falling, and Crested Butte Mountain Resort is gearing up for the winter. The resort will open for the 2009-2010 season on Wed. November 25 (the day before Thanksgiving). django's will open the night before - on Tuesday, November 24 at 5:00PM for dinner.

Off-Season Plans

We hope to visit many of the great restaurants in Crested Butte and beyond, looking for good meals, inspiration, and a little relaxation. (As much as dinner-with-a-toddler will allow.)

We might just visit the Wildflower Spa in Grand Lodge, too. They've been kind enough to extend an offer to guests dining with us this week: you'll receive $15 off a 1-hour massage, anytime from now until November 24th. We'll have coupons here at the restaurant.

It's been a long one, but we've had a great summer. Thanks to everyone who was able to join us. We hope to see you again soon.

(Maybe) Introducing the
'Crack of 11' Club

If you ski (or sleep) too late for breakfast and want great food before 3PM, you'll be happy to know we are considering the addition of brunch (or lunch) this winter from 11am-2pm.

Any thoughts on (a) weekday vs. weekend; or (b) what you'd most like to see on the menu? Please drop us an email and share your thoughts, or join the discussion on Facebook.

As winter approaches, we'll forward another email update with the official schedule and operating hours. Either way, we'll be open by 3PM Tue-Sun.

Are They Trying To Tell Us Something?

Our friends Bill and Cynthia gave us a wonderful cookbook full of exotic recipes to prepare game (like alligator, rattlesnake, and armadillo). While we might not have access to all those tasty ingredients, Kate might find some inspiration for winter dishes. At least she'll be prepared the next time we run over a marmot...

Other guests have provided suggestions, too. This off-season we'll think about those ideas and other ways to improve the django's experience. For example, we've received cocktail recipes from our friends at flyingcracker.com, sample western shirts from Clay at cavenders.com, marketing tips from a few fans, and cocktail onion secrets from Jamie Watt. Oh, and a common reminder from many "if you pull the Brussels Sprouts from the menu I'm never coming back." Okay, okay, some things will stay just as they are.
