Our 1st Anniversary!
django's is now open for the summer season. In just a few short weeks (on June 24th), we'll be ready to celebrate our 1st Anniversary!
It's been a fun adventure, and though some of us are tired at the end of a long week, it's well worth it.
What's new since winter? Our son Mario is now walking! Life will never be the same - just better.
Some of you will recognize the little guy, above, who was with us at the restaurant every day last summer. Mario is taking a break from the business this year, but will make guest appearances.
Anniversary Week
Throughout Anniversary Week (June 23 - June 28) we will have a special nightly event, including:
- Live Jazz: in the Courtyard
- Flight Night: free wine tastings
- Tasting Menus: free samples of new items
- Sangria Competition
- and more to follow...!
Our first Sangria Competition will run through Anniversary Week. All recipes submitted on or before Tuesday June 23 will be eligible. We'll introduce the field for public tasting & comment on Friday and Saturday -- with the final on Sangria Sunday June 28.
The winner will name the new addition, receive dinner for two (2) at django's, and a complimentary glass of Sangria on every visit to django's for the next year.
Recipes may be submitted anytime via email:

django's is ranked #1
django's is currently the top-ranked restaurant in Crested Butte, based on reviews by guests on TripAdvisor. Another rave has been posted on Yelp.com. Some recent examples:

"If you do nothing else when you're in Crested Butte, please eat at django's. This was by far the best meal we had ..."

New Arrivals
Our new summer menu - updated weekly at djangos.us - includes more seafood options (the crispy Yuca- Stuffed Shrimp), variations of winter items (the cornmeal-dusted Diver Scallops) and the return of popular dishes like the Catalonian Flatbread and Boca Negra chocolate cake!
New wine? Oh yes. Tasty new Italians will be offered by the Quartino, like a Vino Nobile di Montepulciano, a Brunello di Montalcino and a Barolo or two...

We'll be sending out recipes, specials and little news updates via Twitter and Facebook throughout the summer. You can follow us at

Start following soon, since our anniversary week will give us a nice chance to experiment with specials.
Live Music on the Patio
Last summer DjangoFest debuted at Mountaineer Square in Mt. Crested Butte. To get in the spirit, we'll be providing live jazz music on the patio on Thursday evenings starting June 18th. Our patio seats about 20, so come early and grab a table - we'll start at 5pm.
Ride the Bus
The Mountain Express and RTA bus service runs all summer, and all buses lead to django's. Service between CB and Mt CB runs every 40 minutes through June 17, after which it runs every 20 minutes until Labor Day. A summer bus schedule is posted on the Town of Crested Butte website.
We also link to bus schedules and provide driving directions and parking info on our website: http://www.djangos.us

Summer Events
This summer will be a busy one. Our Executive Chef Kate Ladoulis has been invited to participate in several important culinary events coming to the area. We'll post updates as they approach, but here's a preview of what's to come:
Tough Enough to Wear Pink - django's will host the VIP reception prior to the Nashville singer / songwriters performance at the auction and concert in Mt. Crested Butte on Tuesday, July 14th.
The 2nd Annual Crested Butte Land Trust Wine & Food Festival will be held July 23-26, 2009. On Saturday, July 25 at 7pm, Kate and Chef Frank Bonanno of Mizuna (Denver) will be creating a special Chefs' Dinner for a limited number of participants who reserve online in advance.
While some of us know that chef Kate is often 'on edge', she'll have a chance to prove it! The main event "Chefs On The Edge" competition, on Monday, August 24, 2009, will wrap up the Center for the Arts' Tour de Forks season.
