About The King & I, Volume 1

For centuries, eunuchs walked two steps behind their kings and queens. With heads bowed and lips sealed, they were confidantes to the throne, players in palace politics, and witnesses to history; but in textbooks and public imagination, eunuchs were nothing more than curious side notes... until now. Loosely based on the life of the Josun Dynasty's most famous eunuch, The King & I is the first-ever Korean TV Drama dedicated to these forgotten royal servants.

Volume 1 of 3 includes 21 episodes with excellent English subtitles and a premium packaging design.

Synopsis
Chuh-sun's (Oh Man Seok, The Vineyard Man) humble birth hides a much more important destiny. As a child he befriends Sungjong (Go Joo Won, The Bizarre Bunch), the future king, and So-hwa (Ku Hye Sun, The Mighty Chil-Woo), the daughter of a noble. Sungjong proposes to So-hwa right before his coronation, and asks Chuh-sun to protect her until she can join him in the palace.

Volume 1 of The King & I follows the trials and heartaches of these three unlikely childhood friends who meet again, in the palace, as king, concubine, and eunuch. Follow along as Chuh-sun's love, loyalty, and sacrifice change the course of Korean history.
