JANUARY 2010 NEWSDUMPSTER

REBECCA & KEN WISH YOU THE MOST FORGETTABLE OF NEW YEAR'S RESOLUTIONS.

We Got Plenty o' Nuttin'.
December 27th marked six years since abandoning traditional careers in favor of one where success is measured by survival rather than salary. Nonetheless, we've found that the lives of itinerant folk singers have a suprising amount in common with those of the leisured classes without having to employ an estates lawyer, for example:

  • getting to see the $5 weekday matinees, along with the toddlers
  • not stressing out on Sunday evenings
  • not needing to set the alarm clock
  • getting treated respectfully
  • not worrying about being team players
  • long afternoon baths
  • going to the grocery store before or after the long checkout lines
  • traveling in the back of a long, black limo (ok, in the front of a long, blue van).

Running Out of West.
The Blue Meanie is getting its tires greased in preparation for its third annual Further West Tour, which will take drag us across the southern US, into California and, coincidentally, burn up ten weeks of the northeastern winter. If you or someone you know lives along our tour route, this might be the year to try skiing.
