MAY 2010 NEWSDUMPSTER

IT'S 7:00A.M., WE'RE SITTING IN THE DEPARTURE LOUNGE AT LOGAN AIRPORT IN BOSTON, AND I'M RACKING MY BRAIN TRYING TO THINK OF A TITLE FOR THIS STUPID NEWSDUMPSTER.

If You've Seen One Manchester, You've Seen Them All, Right?
We got back to Vermont from our ten-week, 13,000-mile Further West Tour just as it turned April. We've been home barely long enough to ensure that the leaves were coming in properly and now this:our first annual 2010 Wrong Side of the Road Tour of the UK, which starts, like, now. It will go on for nine weeks, capped by a show in the Netherlands, just to make things continental.

We were kind of upset about having to jump the pond so soon after getting home, but when we thought about it at three in the morning, Vermont really has lots in common with the UK. Here's why we might not even realize we've left New England for Old:

  • Both places get the BBC News Hour on the radio.
  • Vermont, England and Scotland all have seven letters except for Scotland.
  • Chester, VT has a Scottish Pub. Scotland, we hear, also has at least one such pub.
  • Both places boast acoustically perfect Halls, London has the Royal Albert, Vermont has Rebecca.
  • Both places are known for their cheddars.
  • Maple syrup has a rich golden color and so does Lyle's Golden Syrup.
  • There's the United Kingdom and Vermont has a Northeast Kingdom. Both kingdoms feature cows.

Calendar for May and Early June.
Please check our online calendar for changes, because with this many shows, we might end up at the wrong one. Please note that all the venues below are located in the UK unless we are horribly mistaken.
