Hi Readers! Happy Fall.
Toys Come Home and Tour Dates
I'm touring in October with Paul O. Zelinsky. Click here for dates. Please come out and see us. Bring the kids, bring the students, bring the grandparents! And: I have three new books to share with you. Toys Come Home, just out, is the prequel to Toys Go Out and Toy Dance Party.
It's "the early experiences of an intelligent stingray, a brave buffalo, and a brand-new someone called Plastic."
"Who could imagine the introduction of a self-conscious stingray could lead to such great things?" --Kirkus, starred review?
"Wonderful language, full of rich words and sounds...a timeless story of adventure and friendship to treasure aloud or independently." -- Booklist, starred review
You can preview the book, here.
Small Medium Large came out in early September and it's a book about relative sizes with adorable pictures by Tomek Bogacki, with whom I did Five Creatures and Daffodil.Great for elementary math teachers and other human beings.
It's hard to find online due to some shipping problems, but available from Starbright Books.

Last, but not at all least, spring was the first appearance (or disappearance) of Invisible Inkling.
Inkling is the first in three books about Hank Wolowitz and his invisible friend, a bandapat from the Peruvian Woods of Mystery. (Maybe). They're illustrated by bestselling illustrator Harry Bliss.
"This would be a perfect choice for an early school year read-aloud: straightforward, zippy plot, likable characters and believable family...and its last line is exactly what second and third graders love to read: 'Anything could happen next.'" -- The Horn Book
I'm touring in late October with Paul O. Zelinsky to Madison, Chicago, Seattle, Austin, Burlington and San Francisco. Then in November we have events at Bank Street Books, Boulevard Books and Powerhouse. I'll update that tour schedule as I know details. For news much more current than this newsletter, please follow me (and my books for teenagers) on Twitter, here. Lots of news, hilarity, tour dates and so on.
Happy reading.
