We at CLS would like to personally offer you best wishes for this holiday season! We've had a wonderful year working with you, and can't thank you enough for your valuable feedback and continued support.

New LabStats Suite Product Coming Soon

A LabStats add-on product, whose name is yet to be determined, is well on its way to being released. It has just been sent to QA, and we should have a release date, as well as an awesome name, in the near future.

The new product lets users reserve a single computer, multiple computers or even the whole computer lab for a specific time. Users can view the computer lab's availability on a public calendar to choose their reservation time and then submit the reservation request to the lab administrator, who can then approve or deny the request. Once the computer(s) has been reserved, the reservation will show up in LabMaps.

The screenshot above shows the request reservation box where users will submit the necessary information to request a reservation.

We are really excited about this new feature and wanted to give you the heads up of good things to come. Stay tuned for a release date.

Cleaning up the Knowledge Base

Please excuse the mess our support team is making in the knowledge base. We are working on the knowledge base to make it more efficient and easier to use, with new categories and new articles! Some of the new articles we've posted highlight features that are new to LabStats, as well as features that have been there that you may not have known about.

These articles cover everything from usability to security:

When Lab Managers Get Creative with LabMaps

Check out what Tony Miller and David Creech from East Carolina University did with LabMaps. We thought it was pretty awesome, and wanted to share it with you. Imagine the things you can do with your LabStats, when you start fiddling around.

From the screen shots below you get a general idea of how it works. Basically if a student can see from the from the LabMaps availabity counter that Austin 104 has a lot of vacancy, they can then easily find where the lab is on the Google map
