San Diego Business Owners Offer $2,000 Bonus to Employees who Purchase Alternative Fuel Vehicles

SAN DIEGO, CA -- April 28, 2008 -- “It has to start somewhere,” states Christopher Jack “CJ” Langner, co-owner of Calibration Consultants, Inc. Knowing that the rising price of gasoline is severely impacting businesses, their employees and the economy nationwide, Langner will pay a $2,000 bonus to any Calibration Consultants employee who takes him up on his challenge to trade in their car and purchase an alternative fuel car this year. “As business owners, we must set a precedence for our employees.” Langner adds, “And, as American consumers, we all have a conscious decision to make. With a minor lifestyle change, we can positively impact the state of the economy starting today.” Langner hopes that other business owners will take immediate action. “Taking no action will lead to many more companies closing their doors, skyrocketing unemployment, and economic disaster.” Langner continues, “Our actions will help the economy, the environment, and our employees get by with the rising cost of living.” While “CJ” and his wife Paula, co-owners of Calibration Consultants, have driven mostly V8 trucks their entire adult lives, both are gladly accepting the ribbing from colleagues for trading in their gas guzzler for “his and hers” alternative fuel vehicles last week. The Langners realized an immediate dividend at the gas pump when they filled the tanks for the first time. They went from driving vehicles that got about 10 miles a gallon to cars that provide 40 miles to a gallon. That was enough to convince them to start encouraging others to follow their lead.
