Haute Momma™ products are developed from the creative mind of Jessica Bickford. Jessica heads SLR research, a woman-owned business based in Carlsbad. Her business supplies the largest pharmaceutical companies with biological materials for research and manufacturing. Recently, she decided to take protection from baby’s body fluids to an entirely different level by developing the Baby Ralf™. The inspiration was a night on the town with her husband and then 5 year-old and infant sons.
“I was fashionably dressed that evening yet I had no choice but to throw a plain, white ‘burp rag’ on my shoulder to protect my Haute Couture.” She continues, “I felt as though there had to be more fashionable options available, but there were none.” Immediately afterward, Bickford purchased materials and began assembling and testing fabrics for durability and functionality. Jessica adds with a smile, “At the time my infant son, ‘Hootie’, provided the perfect means to validate prototypes.” It was then that the concept of Haute Momma™ and the Baby Ralf™ were born.
Haute Momma ™ moves beyond the generations-old plain, white diaper “burp cloth” by incorporating fashion with fun and function. The Baby Ralf™ is made with incredibly soft and plush fabrics ranging from fashion solids and popular patterns including: leopard, stars & moons, and “retro dots”.
