Dear Friends, Fans & Family....
Oh thank god we made it through Halloween. And now, all of that insidious trick-or-treat candy is gone except for a few Reese’s peanut butter cups that JD has squirrelled away for the quiet rainy-snowy days ahead.
We are also only a week away from November 8, another thing to be intensely grateful for, right? It will all be over soon, one way or another. In the meantime, as a nod to sanity and the power of individual freedom of choice, I have personally begun a news-media-fast until after the election.
The plan is that instead of addictively turning on CNN or MSNBC or even NPR on the car radio, (all of which have been making me crazy lately) I will listen instead to uplifting and/or interesting podcasts that will elevate and inspire the best of my innate sense of humor and natural well-being. And so far it actually seems to be working. Imagine. Great music does the same thing.
So NOW is a perfect time to announce the official release of our new album of original songs, “Falling in Love Again.” YES YES, here it is, at last! The writing, arranging, recording and performing of these tunes has proven to be an island of creative sanity and existential relief for both JD and myself these many months. And we are delighted to finally be sharing that with all of you.
You can purchase the CD itself or get the download by going to the Music Store page of our website. All lyrics and credits are available to be downloaded there as well.
This album is yet another great collection of Heart Songs. As is true of all our collaborations, this (our 8th CD!) offers a refreshing variety of styles and genres and tempos that will take you on a fine ride through light and shadow as the album moves along. We hope that you will love every tune on this album as much as we do.
Here’s a link to the title cut, “Falling in Love with the World Again.” When the headlines are screaming that we are all going to hell in a handbasket, you can sing along with this fun little tune and remember how powerful it is to celebrate and focus on what is true and beautiful and alive in this world, instead of the alternatives.
After all (as Deepak Chopra, Einstein, Ringo, and other brilliant pioneers have hinted) “It’s all in the mind.” And probably also in the heart, soul, attitude, and interpretation. I think it was Lily Tomlin who once said, “Reality is nothing more than a collective hunch.”
So we might as well put in our requests for what we really want, and enjoy the unfolding….singing and dancing as we go.
Our song “Easy” knows that we can relax and trust the divine love intelligence behind our breath. It says:
“Flowers bloom, the seasons unfold. You plant a seed, it knows how to grow. The sun will rise, the wind blows free….This old world is wiser than me….I know that it’s easy….”
Happy November. We are so grateful for each one of you. Please keep in touch.
Love from Jan & JD
