Extended Family of the Heart

Dear Friends, Fans & Family....
It is a glorious autumn here in Colorado, crisp, fresh, and a bit rainy....a blessed relief after such a hot, dry, fiery summer. We hope all is well where you are.
JD and I continue to work on recording our new album.  We're not sure of the title yet, but so far we are calling the project "The Extended Family of the Heart" because it involves all of you. After writing and recording 8 CDs of original music together, we feel compelled to put this one out into the world at this very challenging time in history. And we're asking for your help.
We will be launching our "Indiegogo" fundraising campaign with a free concert of our newest songs here in the Roaring Fork Valley (at the Snowmass Cottages) on Saturday, Oct. 13. We will be streaming the concert on Facebook Live from 5:30 to 7:00 pm Mountain Time, so tune in if you can to our Facebook fan page:

Remember when we were all hippies (OK, when I was a hippie) many many years ago, and we heard all the predictions of the coming disastrous "earth changes?"  There would be social and financial upheavals, wars, epidemics, hurricanes, floods, wildfires, tsunamis, and the breakdown of governments, cultures, common decency, and civility.
The Mayan calendar ended in 2012 as if to say, yeah, you guys are on your own now.  Good luck.
Whoever wrote the "Message from the Hopi Elders" years ago, said, "There is a river flowing now very fast. It is so great and swift, that there are those who will be afraid.  They will try to hold on to the shore, they will feel they are being torn apart and will suffer greatly.
"Know that the river has its destination. The elders say we must let go of the shore, push off into the middle of the river, keep our eyes open and our heads above the water. And I say, see who is there with you and celebrate. At this time in history, we are to take nothing personally, least of all ourselves, for the moment that we do, our spiritual growth and journey come to a halt.

"The time of the lone wolf is over. Gather yourselves. Banish the word struggle from your attitude and vocabulary. All that we do now must be done in a sacred manner and in celebration.
"We are the ones we have been waiting for....."
It's not really important to me who wrote that. It sounds like pretty good advice, no matter what.
The new songs JD and I will be previewing Oct. 13 are soulful, powerful, truthful....and uplifting at the same time.
Please listen to our version of this very strong song written by JD, Karen Drucker, and David Roth, “Home of the Brave (Immigrants and Pilgrims and Refugees).”  The recording is still a work in progress.
We invite all of you to be part of our fundraising campaign, and participate in producing this album in any way you can.   We will send you a link to the Indiegogo site as soon as it goes live.
It's an Extended Family of the Heart, and YOU'RE IT!
THANKS and love from
Jan & JD
