Stop at Finch Fieldhouse on Thursday, February 25 between 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. for "one-stop-shopping." This is a special registration night for area recreation providers presented by Mt. Pleasant Parks and Recreation and sponsored by MC Sports. Scheduled to be on site: Girls Youth Softball, Union Township Little & Farm Leagues (also Rosebush and Denver Township teams), Youth Tee-Ball, Mt. Pleasant Baseball Association, Girls on the Run, Mt. Pleasant Soccer Club, Mt. Pleasant Little and Farm Leagues, PEAK, and Learn to Skate.

Parks and Recreation Master Plan

ImageWe're looking for your input!

Mt. Pleasant Parks and Recreation Commission is seeking your feedback for the 2010 Master Plan. This Master Plan is designed to guide recreation planning and development efforts of the Mt. Pleasant Parks and Recreation Department over the next 5-year period, through 2014.

A draft copy of the Parks & Recreation Master Plan will be available on our website www.mt-pleasant.org February 22. Take a look at the draft copy and share your input during one of the upcoming Public Hearings.

Public Hearings on the draft version of the Master Plan will be held:
Tuesday, March 2, at 7:00 p.m. (Parks & Recreation Commission Meeting)
Thursday, March 4, at 7:00 p.m. (Planning Commission Meeting) and
Monday, March 8, at 7:00 p.m. (CIty Commission Meeting)
each in the City Commission Room, City Hall, 320 W. Broadway Street, Mt. Pleasant, Michigan.

All interested persons may attend and participate. Persons with disabilities needing assistance to participate may call the Human Resources office at (989) 779-5314. Persons requiring speech or hearing assistance may contact the City through the Michigan Relay Center at 1-800-649-3777. A 48-hour advance notice is necessary for accommodation.

Learn to Play Hockey

ImageTuesdays, March 16 - April 20
I.C.E. Arena, 5165 E. Remus Rd.

Our learn to play hockey program, sponsored in part by Tim Horton's Timbits Program, provides beginning hockey players, ages 4 - 8, with the skating skills necessary to play the game. Players are taught basic skating skills placing an emphasis on balance, forward and backward skating, stopping, holding a stick, passing, skating with and shooting the puck. AHAMP will provide equipment for rent on a first come, first serve basis.
