Goal Setting Setting goals is a great way to jump start some activity, make some progress, and keep yourself on track. When setting goals, there are a couple of things to keep in mind...
1. Make goals achievable, don't set yourself up for defeat or disappointment.
2. Make goals simple. For example, if you're not getting any exercise in, set a goal to go for a 15 minute walk 4 nights a week. Any activity is better than none at all.
3. Keep goals specific and clear. For example, set the goal to lose 2 lbs by the end of the week.
4. Put a time line on it. Setting a time for the goals to be reached puts some urgency to start working now! Don't put it off.
5. If you're going to reward yourself, don't make it with food. Try treating yourself to a movie, a new book, a new item of clothing, or simply time with friends or family.
