Public Access for Jericho, Richmond & Underhill, VT - February 16, 2018

MMCTV is preparing for Town Meeting Day on March 6th. This year Jericho will be live from MMU at and on MMCTV Comcast 15.

We recorded a candidates' forum in Richmond (L) and look forward to recording another organized by the Underhill Historical Society at the Deborah Rawson Library on Feb. 22nd. MMCTV has invited all candidates into the studio to record messages, and filmed messages giving the Town Meeting Day rundown by both Richmond and Jericho's town clerks.

For the fourth time MMCTV will work with Richmond Free Library for a free workshop for middle schoolers during part of February vacation. This year's session - dedicated to animation -  filled up quickly! We are looking forward to exploring stop-motion and computer-based animation with eight creative kids.  Watch for those videos on MMCTV.

Meanwhile, the CHMS Broadcasters' Club is back. Catch their coverage (including running commentary) of the boys' Jan. 31st game vs. Milton.

MMCTV's intern Maddie Daley, from MMU, has been producing several videos on events in the MMMU school district, including this one, filmed at CHMS, and a video-in-progress about her school's winter carnival.

Channel17After 20 years of squeezing public, educational and government programs into one channel, MMCTV will be launching its second channel by late March.

We've ordered the $30,000+ broadcast system, Comcast has installed new fiber optic connections and we are awaiting the new system to be put into place. Local Comcast Channel 17 will feature primarily local and state-wide government meetings. All selectboard, water/sewer, DRB and other town meetings will shift to the new channel and play more times per week.

WHAT DO YOU THINK? Share your ideas for what you’d like to see on both revamped Channel 15 and new 17 by filling out our online poll here. Thank you!

This weekend many farmers and other organic food-related folk will gather at UVM for NOFA-VT's Winter Conference. MMCTV is proud to again be an in-kind media sponsor.

In the days and weeks again, MMCTV and public access channels across the country will feature the high quality videos filmed at the event by NOFA-VT staffer Gregg Stevens.

We look forward to sharing these programs on the Vermont Access Network's VMX system. Last year several of the videos were played by over 15 public access channels throughout the US. NOFA-VT gets thousands of views on their Youtube channel
thanks to Gregg's work.

Having neighbors Arabesque Etc. Dance keeps us up-to-date on the local dance scene. Dad Jon Kart's camerawork made the dance studio's annual Nutcracker Tea possible. Thanks to intern Maddie for her patience synching music for that.

Local veteran filmmaker Jim Ray is the force behind another production now on MMCTV (R); he filmed and edited a recent Valley Stage multicamera P.M. Sundays show featuring Rhythm Future.

Toni Basanta is simultaneously working on episodes 74 and 75 of The Cuban Bridge, with Nina's Brew heading to MMCTV for a live show on Wed. February 21st at 6.30pm.

Some of the 38 local videos made since January 1st include:
