  • Techpros Tips for Job Seekers

         sign-realitycheck.jpg

    Be flexible and open.

The most successful job seekers are those who remain open to positions which may not have been on their radar screen, but that may actually be a good fit for them.  Job searching is inherently about change, and those job seekers who can more rapidly adapt to new opportunities are likely to find a job more quickly and feel more rewarded in the end.

Make sure your resume is focused.

With the job market saturated with applicants for each open position, make sure your resume highlights the skills and experience the hiring company is seeking.  If a great deal of your resume lists experience that is unrelated to the position for which you are applying, the person reading it will have difficulty seeing you in the position, and will likely close your resume and move on to the next one in his/her full email inbox.

    Techpros Tips for Hiring Managers
Based on excerpt from "The Role of the Hiring Manager in Recruiting" by Edward Davis

Help Techpros learn what your ideal candidate looks like.

Our role is to minimize the amount of time that it takes to recruit, source, and screen high-quality talent for you.  In order to do this, we need you to make an upfront investment to ensure that we know what “great” looks like to your company. This includes some simple but important steps, such as putting together a concise job description that emphasizes what is most important for the position. A more focused job description yields better results than one that's overly broad.

Once the interviewing process is underway, it's critical that you provide us with detailed feedback on why you liked or didn’t like a specific candidate. The more information you provide us, the faster we can deliver the right candidate for you.
