Recently, I led a therapist training on Focalizing and Somatic Experiencing. A central focus of the teaching was informed by collective healing from the depths of our human experience. We explored the latest neuroscience findings, comparing them with personal experiences. I demonstrated that by tuning into our felt sense physiology, natural bodily sensations can guide our emotions and thought fields in a new and often surprising way.
On returning to my practice after the training, I was struck by how many of my clients were demonstrating a severe deregulation of their nervous systems, a response to the present and future affects of global economic and other uncertainties. Beginning March 26, Michael Picucci will lead and teach two Focalizing ten week circles, or groups, (eight participants), one from 11:00 to 1:00 and the other from 7:00 to 9:00 on Thursdays.
